Off to the east of the country. All the way to Rolde in Drenthe to photographically contribute to the beautiful day of Annemargriet and Gerben. The couple lives in Amsterdam near the beautiful Amstel river, but their roots lie elsewhere. The plan was to let the wedding take place in their ‘place of the past’.

First of all I was present with Annemargriet, who was at the local hairdresser. Together with her mother, who was also modeled on her hair. The day started well here, the atmosphere was very relaxed, perfect.
After the bride’s photography at the hairdresser and makeup, I continued my way to Gerben. This soccer player and also soccer fan (see picture below with his matching cufflinks) received me at his parents’ home in Grolloo. There I made sure that I photographed the cosy homely atmosphere. Father helped his son straighten the tie and mom made a cup of good coffee.

We continued to the parental home of Annemargriet. There, the bride was waiting for her man. A nice moment to photograph these two at their ‘first look’.
Around the parental home I made pictures of the wedding couple. Afterwards, we went to the wedding venue where family and friends had gathered.

The ceremony was small in design and very personal. You could see well that the attendants were really happy for the wedding couple. Beautiful for photography. When the ceremony came to an end, guests were invited to enter a big cart pulled by two horses. We rode together to a large old sheep shed. At that location there were some surprises waiting for the couple by friends and family. Around the sheep shed we also made family portraits. Fantastic with all the sheep around!

After drinks, the day came to an end at the wedding venue. Everybody waved the couple goodbye when they entered their honeymoon car.

Please have a look at my other photographed weddings.
