During this diversity conference in the National Opera & Ballet, Amsterdam’s cultural institutions and the municipality of Amsterdam took an important step in achieving a more diverse composite staff, a broad composite audience, and a programming that promotes diversity.

With renowned key-note speakers like Khalil Gibran Muhammad (Professor of History, Race and Public Policy), Nana Adusei-Poku Applied (Research Professor Cultural Diversity at Rotterdam University) and Alistair Spalding (Artistic Director and Chief Executive of Saddler’s Wells Theater) .

There were break-out sessions about Inclusiveness in the Top, Unconscious Bias, Inclusive Museum Programming and the Code of Cultural Diversity in Practice.

The conference was concluded by Ollongren, alderman, who ratified intentions and agreements. At the diversity conference there were management, management and / or HR staff, but also other invitees who wanted to contribute to more diversity within the cultural sector in Amsterdam.
